Product Description

FUNCTION

Ready-to-use multifunctionnal organic liquid additive for metal coatings ; it combines an active corrosion inhibition with an adhesion promotion and a reinforcement of the film’s water resistance.

It can be used to replace powder-form anticorrosion pigments or to enhance their performance through synergistic mechanisms.

APPLICATION

The ASCONIUM® -500 can be added to any type of liquid metal coating for industrial, professional or do-it-yourself use, primers or direct-to-metal systems. It has been specifically designed for water-based formulations based on

acrylic, alkyd, epoxy and PU binders, both pigmented and clear-coatings. It is suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.

INCORPORATION / DOSAGE

The ASCONIUM® -500 is easy to incorporate into the paint formulation, without any pre-dilution into a solvent or pre- neutralization with an amine.

It can be indifferently added to the mill-base or the let-down stage. A post-addition is also possible. In 2K Epoxy coatings, the additive should be added to the hardener part.
